Recording Classes and Events
Subject to the College of Law's General Policy on Recording Classes for Students, Video Operations (VO) may video record classes and skill exercises  for  students. Students  must comply with their instructors' or organizations' policies and with VO procedures for requesting and using this service to assure proper, effective use of service. Recordings in the CVS system are available for four weeks after the record date. After that time they are automatically removed from the system. Recordings made with Panopto (UI Capture) are available until the Professor removes access.

For special events please visit the Events Planning page.

The Video Operations department also has several "Flip" cameras available for checkout for Law Events and Classes. To check out cameras, visit the staff in room 110 or e-mail us.

Classroom Video System (CVS) Project for Digital Recording
Starting with the Spring 2014 semester, regularly scheduled classes in Rooms 115, 125, 245 and 295 are recorded using our online Classroom Video System (CVS). Regularly scheduled classes in room 225, 235, 236, 275, and 285 are recording using Panopto (UI Capture).

CVS class recordings must be requested before the class takes place. To request a recordings or to view a video, visit the Online Recording Request Form, log in, and follow the appropriate link. Requests are subject to the instructors' recording policies (click the link to view). Students may visit room 130 of the Law Library to watch video streams or borrow headphones at the Law Library Circulation Desk.

Panopto recordings are made by student volunteers enrolled in the course and every class is recorded unless otherwise requested by the Professor. Panopto recordings are available online here.

If you have questions regarding video-playing software on your laptop, or using the CVS request form, please contact Student Computing via E-mail or by phone (319) 335-8540.
