Academic Conference and Tribute Honoring the late David C. Baldus, Joseph B. Tye Professor of Law (1935-2011)

The College of Law will be hosting two special events to honor the late David C. Baldus, Joseph B. Tye Professor at the University of Iowa College of Law. The first is a brief conference recognizing his many academic and professional accomplishments. The second is a tribute to David Baldus as a colleague, mentor, and friend.

The law school scheduled this academic conference last spring. Professor Baldus reluctantly agreed to accept the plan to honor him. Although seriously ill, he – and the entire law school community – hoped he would be able to participate.  Notwithstanding his death on June 13 of this year, we are proceeding with the conference as planned, with the tribute to follow.
