Services
The Law Library has two Research Assistants available to faculty only during academic semesters and summer sessions to:
- retrieve books, articles, and other material;
- find and print materials from online sources such as the Internet, LexisNexis, Westlaw, or other databases;
- photocopy or arrange copying at the Copy Center using the professor's photocopy account;
- perform citation checks or other basic research as time permits.
Requests
All requests should include sufficient information to identify the particular items desired, such as author(s), title, date of publication, edition, volume, and page. If requested, the RAs will attempt to locate materials with only a partial citation.
Time Frame
Normally, requests will be filled in the order in which they are received and the materials will be delivered to faculty within 24 hours Monday through Friday. However, when demand for the delivery of materials is heavier than the RAs' time permits, requests by a faculty member for more than five items will be filled after pending requests by other faculty members for a lesser number of items. Also, requests for materials from other libraries on campus will be filled after those requests for materials from the Law Library.
Returning Materials
Upon request, the RAs will pick up books from a faculty member's office and return them to the Law Library or other campus libraries.
