The Iowa Law Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF) is dedicated to three goals: educating the Iowa Law School community about forms of institutionalized animal abuse, fostering awareness about means of combating this abuse through litigation, and, providing opportunities for students to work with attorneys on litigation projects aimed at protecting the lives and interests of animals. SALDF's mission is to provide a forum for education, advocacy, and scholarship aimed at protecting the lives and advancing the interests of animals through the legal system, and raising the profile of the field of animal law.
