The Journal of Corporation Law is a student-operated legal periodical, which publishes articles related to modern business enterprise. Although articles by many nationally prominent practitioners and scholars are published annually in the Journal, student writing is at the heart of its success. Several student pieces are included in each of the four annual issues. All students are eligible to write for the Journal upon completion of two semesters of classes.
The scope of the Journal includes the diverse areas of antitrust, labor law, securities, taxation, employment discrimination, insurance, products liability, and regulated industries, as well as traditional corporate topics. Students are encouraged to make a commitment to writing for a legal publication. While the process of completing a piece for publication may be arduous, the rewards are many. The student will hone his or her research and writing skills, student writers receive academic and writing credit for completed pieces, and completed articles are very helpful during interviews. Finally, students who complete the Journal writing and secondary hour requirements are eligible for staff selection.
Responsibility for operation of the Journal rests with the board of editors. The editorial staff receives academic and writing credit as well as a monetary stipend.
