Students who have completed their first year of law school are encouraged to write for the Iowa Law Review. The Review is a nationally respected publication ranked as one of the best in the country by the American Bar Association. The student- and professor-authored articles in the Review present a wide variety of perspectives and analyses on recent developments in law.
Students who write even one article for the Review enhance their status in an increasingly tight job market and hone their writing skills through participation in one of the most thorough and intensive writing programs at the law school. Writing and academic credit may be earned through writing for the Review.
Students who meet the writing and secondary hour requirements are eligible for a position on the editorial board of the Review, one of the highest honors that can be accorded a law student. Staff members receive additional writing credits and a monetary stipend.
