Stella Burch Elias joined the Iowa Law faculty in 2012, after a two-year appointment as a Climenko Fellow and Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School. Her research and teaching interests are in the areas of immigration law, public international law, and comparative law.
Professor Elias graduated with First Class Honors from Oxford University and received her J.D. from Yale Law School. Following law school, she clerked for Judge Stephen Reinhardt of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Prior to law school, she served as a diplomat in the United Kingdom Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
