Serena Stier has earned three degrees in psychology, a BA with honors from Stanford University in 1960, an MA from Boston University in 1961, and a PhD from UCLA in 1967. She earned a JD degree (with highest honors) from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1981. She was an Assistant Professor of medical psychology at UCLA from 1970-1973. From 1982-1988 she co-directed the University of Iowa Divorce Mediation Clinic. She served as an Associate Professor of law at the Albany Law School from 1988-1993 and has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Law. She has published in the areas of legal ethics, divorce mediation, and law and psychology, among other areas.
