Manuel Gomez received two law degrees from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Venezuela, after which he spent 12 years in private law practice. He then received JSM and JSD degrees from the Stanford Law School in 2002 and 2007, respectively. Since 2007 he has been on the faculty of Florida International University College of Law in Miami. Professor Gomez has co-authored a book with Lawrence Friedman and written numerous articles and book chapters, in both English and Spanish, on the legal profession, transnational litigation and dispute resolution, and other topics, with an emphasis on Latin America.
