Linda Neuman comes to the College of Law after serving more than twenty years in the Iowa judiciary. From 1986 to 2003, Linda was an associate justice of the Iowa Supreme Court. Prior to her tenure on the supreme court, Linda served as a district court judge for the 7th Judicial District of Iowa. In January 2004, she resumed partnership with her former firm, Betty, Neuman & McMahon, L.L.P., Davenport, Iowa. Linda earned her BA in 1970 and her JD in 1973 from the University of Colorado, and LLM from the University of Virginia in 1998. She is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, on the board of the American Academy of ADR Attorneys, current president of the John F. Dillon American Inn of Court, and member of the U.S. Association of Constitutional Law. While in the judiciary, Linda chaired the Appellate Judges Conference of the ABA, served on the executive committee of the judicial division, was a member of the ABA/JAD Committee on Standards of Judicial Administration, and a director of the National Association of Women Judges. She has given numerous lectures and presentations to professional and civic organizations in Iowa and elsewhere.
