Ms. Pelzer is a graduate of St. Luke's School of Nursing and received her BSN degree cum laude from Coe College and her JD (with high distinction) from the University of Iowa College of Law where she was awarded Order of the Coif and Served as Editor-in Chief of the Journal of Corporation Law. Ms. Pelzer is currently Deputy General Counsel for Litigation and Business Legal Services for the University of Iowa providing legal advice and counsel to administrators, including the President and Vice Presidents, Board of Regents administrative personnel, deans, department heads, faculty and staff on a full range of legal issues facing a major public research university. Her primary focus has been on legal issues arising from institutional business/transactional activities, faculty and staff employment matters, and legal issues as they relate to an academic health care institution. She has been teaching an annual seminar on higher education law for the College of Law for the past 10 years.
