Percy Bordwell received his undergraduate degree, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of California and his LLB (Order of the Coif), LLM, and PhD degrees from Columbia University. He was a longstanding member of the faculty at the University of Iowa. He joined the faculty in 1910 and for many decades was renowned for his scholarship and teaching in the fields of legal history, international law, and the law of property. He died in 1970.
Professor Sheldon Kurtz is the current Percy Bordwell Professor of Law.
