"What we have to learn to do, we learn by doing."  Aristotle

Steve Langerud is a counselor, facilitator and executive coach.  He currently is the assistant dean of the University of Iowa College of Law and serves as a consultant for the Larned A. Waterman Iowa Non-Profit Resource Center.  Prior to joining the College of Law, he was the dean of experiential education at Grinnell College.  He works with individuals and groups to improve their skills in communication, team-building, leadership and strategic thinking.  He has worked with over 15,000 people to facilitate effective professional development, career and life decisions and improve organizational relationships.

Langerud has been cited by publications including The National Law Journal, LawJobs.Com, ABA Journal, The New York Times, Kiplinger's Personal Finance, The Wall Street Journal, U.S. News and World Report, and The Des Moines Register for his work in education and integrated career and life transition programs.  As an author, Steve has contributed work to such publications as Iowa Commerce, Journal of College Student Development, Grinnell Magazine, and Experiential Education.  He is also the co-author of an award-winning guide to making career decisions.

The context for his work comes from his experience as an archaeologist, street performer, carpenter, and president of a bicycle company.  An intrepid bicyclist, he and his partner, Karen Veerhusen, were featured in nationally syndicated articles about their year-long independent bicycle tour through the United States, Mexico, New Zealand and Australia.
