Position: Attorney - National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), Washington, DC
Salary: The salary range is for a general schedule equivalent of a GS 11 to 14, with a promotion potential to a 15. This is an excepted service position. Moving expenses will not be paid.

Requirements: Some experience preferred. Knowledge and/or experience in any combination of the following are required - federal Indian law, gaming law, finance, regulation drafting, contracts, administrative law, environmental, health and safety law and slot machine technology. A demonstrated interest in and understanding of Indian law is preferred.
Duties: NIGC is an independent federal regulatory agency that regulates gambling on Indian lands. Job responsibilities include: administrative and federal litigation regarding Indian gaming matters; the review of tribal gaming ordinances, management contracts and environmental documents; analyses of operational characteristics of gaming and amusement devices; and the provision of general legal advice and assistance on gaming and administrative matters to the NIGC.
