The College of Law's Clinical Law Programs reflect the richness and diversity of modern law practice. The Legal Clinic operates like a law firm within the walls of the Boyd Law Building. The clinic offers students the opportunity to put their legal skills to use in a variety of practice areas. It is located on the third floor of the College of Law.
Practice areas Faculty members supervise about 35 students each semester in the management of various cases and projects as well as an externship program. Here are some of the practice areas offered:
Assistive Technology Consumer Rights Criminal Defense Disability Rights Domestic Violence Externships General Civil Immigration Workers' Rights
Student Enrollment Information Students who have completed the equivalent of three semesters (a minimum total of 39 credit hours including summer classes) toward their JD degrees are eligible to participate in the college's Legal Clinic program, which offers a variety of opportunities for students to apply their theoretical knowledge to real cases under the supervision of faculty members and other attorneys.
