Clerkship Program

Clerkships can be arranged with law firms located in Paris for students who are fluent in French.

Eligibility
The clerkship program is available only to those students who successfully complete the academic portion of the program. The clerkship program is supplemental to the academic program. Students who have completed one year of law school are eligible for the clerkship program. Each applicant for the clerkship program will be required to demonstrate proficiency in French, usually through a phone interview with an attorney from the French firm.

Students interested in applying for the clerkship program should include their application with the academic-program application. Since we expect to receive more clerkship applications than available positions, entrance into the clerkship program will be competitive.

Clerk Duties
The clerkships will take place following the academic program. The exact dates will be arranged on an individual basis, but will normally last one month. The clerkships are unpaid, without stipend, and without academic credit. Duties assigned are likely to be questions of American law, translation etc. Clerkships ordinarily will be awarded in February.

Room and Board
The student will be responsible for arranging meals and housing during the clerkship program.
